New Indie Artist - Ruby Empress

Radio Killed Music is proud to present our new indie artist, Ruby Empress. Ruby Empress is a very young indie pop band that has a lot of great music ahead of them. The band was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden and includes members Tom, Axel. Melker, and Gustav. The 22 year old musicians are totally in charge of all activities. They write, record, and produce their own music and even make films, design clothes, and book their own events.

Ruby Empress's Influences & Style

Ruby Empress is influenced by Californian west coast grooves from the 70's. The music they create follows the same mold, but is still innovative in its own right. Band member, Tom says "Ruby Empress is about: finding beauty, breaking up formats, excelling on our instruments, telling stories with multiple meanings, and combining summer chill with the blue notes." Ruby Empress compares their sound to the likes of "ELO, Supertramp, 10cc, Genesis, Pink Floyd [and] The Beatles." 

Beyond the Music

Ruby Empress likes to take their artistic expression beyond just music. The band enjoys creating artistic films, short videos, and designing clothes. They strive to explore and share their love for all things artistic and "believe that everyone is made by art, and that we all can and need to access, consume and produce art not to go mad." Why limit yourself to just music? Our ability to hear is only one of our senses. Ruby Empress does not limit their expression to just music. They visually express themselves through the videos and films they create and embody what it truely means to be an artist. 

New Music by Ruby Empress

Currently, the group is finishing up their first EP that is set to drop very soon. Radio Killed Music is proud to present their first single, Deluca. The lead singer's voice on this track is a very relaxing and smoothing. The song has a nice gleeful bounce and a bit of a west coast vibe.
